General
I have pottery to pick up. When and how can I do that?
All finished pottery, whether from a one-time class, workshop, or multi-week pottery class series at Ceramic Souls Nashville, can be picked up during the following times (during Wedged
Ceramics Supply open hours):

Monday, Wednesday, Thursday: 12pm - 7pm

Friday: 10am - 4pm

Sunday: 12pm - 4pm
Your pieces will be fully glazed and kiln-fired before being placed in the pickup area. Please allow 3–4 weeks after your class for completion, depending on kiln schedules and volume. We recommend picking up your pottery within 30 days of notification, as storage space in our East Nashville pottery studio is limited.
Do you offer gift cards?​​
Yes! You can purchase gift cards for any amount here. Ceramic Soul gift cards are good towards any class, workshop or membership.
Do you sell pottery supplies?​

Students and members can buy additional approved clay anytime from Ceramic Souls. Our sister business, Wedged Ceramics Supply, is located within our Nashville pottery studio. Wedged offers a large variety of glazes, clay and tools for any potter!
What's the cancellation policy?
We know life doesn’t always go according to plan, and we approach cancellations with care and clarity to help keep our pottery classes in East Nashville running smoothly for everyone.
One-Time Classes & Workshops:

If you cancel at least 72 hours prior to the start of your class or workshop, you will receive a credit that may be applied toward another class or workshop. Credits are non-transferable and must be used within 6 months of the original class date.

Reschedule requests 72-hours prior to class will be accommodated to the best of our ability. 1 reschedule per registration is allowed.

If you cancel within 72 hours of your scheduled class or workshop, your registration fee will be forfeited and no credit will be issued.
Multi-Week Class Series:

2 weeks prior to the 1st class in a series, you will be refunded for the series fee minus a $50 administration fee.

Cancellations within 2 weeks of the start date will only be allowed to reschedule – must be rescheduled within 6 months of initial class start date, 1 reschedule allowed.

No refunds will be given or reschedules allowed after the first class in a series or workshop.

If you don’t show up for class, you forfeit the class fee.

For a series or workshops with multiple classes, 1 make-up class will be allowed to be completed within the course time period.
Can I teach at Ceramic Souls?
We’re always open to connecting with experienced ceramic artists who are interested in teaching and supporting our community. If you’re curious about teaching at Ceramic Souls, the first step is to complete a short interest questionnaire. From there, we’ll review submissions and reach out if there’s a potential fit or upcoming need.
Because our classes, values, and community culture matter deeply to us, not all inquiries move forward, but we truly appreciate every artist who takes the time to reach out.
Is there a way to get more involved at Ceramic Souls?
Yes. We offer a limited number of spots in our Soul Steward program, a work-for-trade opportunity designed for those who want to be more deeply involved in the studio. Soul Stewards receive a discounted membership in exchange for a weekly studio shift.

Classes
Do I need prior ceramics or pottery experience to take a class?
Not at all. Ceramic Souls offers beginner pottery classes in Nashville, as well as intermediate options for returning students. Whether this is your very first pottery class or you’re ready to refine your skills, our instructors guide you step by step.
What's included in a Ceramic Souls pottery class?​
All pottery classes at Ceramic Souls Nashville include instruction, clay, use of studio tools, glazing, and kiln firing. Our Nashville pottery studio is fully equipped for both hand building clay and clay wheel throwing, so you can focus on learning and creating without needing to bring anything with you.
What will I make in class, and how many pieces do I get to keep?
Each pottery class in East Nashville focuses on specific techniques—such as wheel throwing lessons or hand building projects. For one-time classes or workshops you’ll typically create and keep 1–2 finished pieces, depending on the class or workshop. After glazing and kiln firing in Nashville, your work will be ready for pickup in a 3-4 weeks.
What should I wear or bring to a pottery class?
Wear comfortable clothes you don’t mind getting a little messes, clay washes out, but splashes happen. Closed-toe shoes are required. Everything else is provided at our East Nashville pottery studio, including tools, aprons, and materials for your pottery class Nashville experience.
Do you offer pottery classes for kids, couples or private events?
Yes! Ceramic Souls offers kids pottery classes, couples pottery classes, and one-time workshops that are perfect for date night ideas, bachelorette party ideas, and group celebrations. We also host private events and function as an event space in East Nashville, with options for customized clay experiences.
What if I have to miss a class?
We understand that life happens. If you need to miss a pottery class at Ceramic Souls Nashville, please reach out as soon as possible. While missed classes are not guaranteed make-ups, our multi-week Nashville pottery classes include access to Potters Hours for extra practice and can be used to “make-up” the time you missed in the studio.
For one-time workshops or pottery classes in East Nashville, missed sessions are not refundable, but you may be eligible for a credit if you cancel within the stated cancellation window. We always recommend reviewing the specific class details or contacting us with questions.

Membership
Do I need prior ceramics/pottery experience to become a member?
We have only three requirements to become a Ceramic Souls member:
1) prior recent experience with ceramics and/or pottery
2) be able to work independently in the studio without aid from an teacher
3) a commitment to maintaining a clean clay room and following safe studio practices.
Can I bring in pieces made elsewhere to be fired?
We do not offer kiln rentals for externally-made work at this time.
Do you offer teen membership?
If your teen is interested in becoming a member, reach out! Teen memberships include 8 hours/month of studio time (additional hours available for $12/hour) and up to 5 cu. ft. of work-in-progress shelf space.
What is a Clay & Tool Shelf Rental?
Clay & Tool shelf rentals are optional and available on a first-come, first-served basis, with the option to rent more than one if needed. Each shelf measures approximately 14” x 15” x 18” and is perfect for storing your tools, apron, unused clay, and other personal items between visits or while you’re in the studio. FYI - these are open shelves, not lockers and not intended for personal items of value.
Clay Connoisseurs enjoy a complimentary C&T shelf as part of their membership.
What is a Work-In-Progress Shelf?
Work-in-Progress shelves (approximately 16”x24”x9” or 2.6 cu ft) are designated for temporary storage of greenware and bisqueware work-in-progress. The amount of shelf space varies by membership level and increases with higher hourly plans.

Once pieces are ready to be glaze fired, they should be moved to the bisque fire shelves. Work-in-Progress shelves are not dedicated, when a member has no ongoing projects, they must remove their name to free up the shelf for other members. Another shelf will be available when you begin your next project.
Can I see the studio and learn more about it before officially starting my membership?
Yes! Once you complete the online interest form, you will receive an email with a link to finish signing up for your membership and scheduling a Member Orientation. You can sign up for your membership during your orientation if you'd like.
What kinds of tools does the studio have?
As a community studio, we will have community tools available for use by members and students while in the studio. That includes ribs, wires, carving tools, sponges, molds, brushes—almost everything you need to create or throw your work. There are 2 classroom areas with wheels, a member-only wheel area, hand building areas, glaze & tool area, and a pottery supplies store. Larger equipment includes a slab roller, extruder, commercial kilns and more.
What kinds of glazes and types of clay?
You have access to our community glazes and select commercial glazes. Our clay inventory consists of our own reclaimed clay and we carry a selection of MN Clay clay bodies, from porcelain to multiple types of stoneware clays. To maintain the quality of our recycled clay and to ensure a consistent firing process, the use of outside glazes must be pre-approved by Ceramic Souls staff and outside clays will not be allowed.
What if I need to cancel my membership?
All memberships are month-to-month and begin on your sign-up date, renewing automatically each month. We require a 3-month minimum commitment when you join. After that, you’re free to cancel anytime with at least 30 days’ written notice before your desired end date. Ceramic Souls also reserves the right to terminate memberships if a member violates the Membership Agreement or Studio Rules and Responsibilities.
Can I pause my membership?
Yes! After your initial 3-month commitment, you’re welcome to pause your membership up to 2 times per year, for up to 3 months each time. To request a pause, just send us an email in advance. While your membership is paused, no new charges will be made, but please note that no refunds or credits will be issued for past payments. Your spot will be held, and you can jump back in when you're ready!
Can I bring a friend?
Yes! Members can bring guests by purchasing a Guest Pass in the Student & Member Portal. Each guest is allowed one visit per month, and the hosting member is responsible for their guest during the visit.
Can I bring my dog?
Definitely! Ceramic Souls is a dog-friendly studio for members. All we ask is that your pet doesn't interfere with other members or students and is caught up on their vaccinations.

Potter's Hours
What are Potter's Hours?
Potter's Hours are open studio hours at Ceramic Souls Nashville, designed for students and members to practice independently outside of scheduled classes. During Potter's Hours, a teacher will be available to provide any help needed, and are meant for you to work on skills learned in class using our fully equipped East Nashville pottery studio, including wheels, hand-building tables, tools, and glazes.
When are Potter's Hours?
Potter's Hours are scheduled quarterly, and are posted in advance here and on our member portal. Availability may change based on classes, workshops, and events happening in our Nashville pottery studio, so we recommend checking the current schedule before planning your visit.
How do I make a reservation for Potter's Hours?
Potter's Hours in advance. Reservations can be made through the Student & Member Portal under Reservations, with availability scheduled quarterly and listed below. This helps us manage studio capacity and ensure a great experience for everyone. Members do not need to make a reservation and may use the studio during designated Potters Hours according to their membership access.
Private Events
What types of private events do you host?
We host a variety of private pottery events at Ceramic Souls Nashville, including birthdays, team-building events, bachelorette parties, corporate outings, friend gatherings, and creative celebrations. Our East Nashville event space is designed for hands-on, community-centered clay experiences.
How many people can attend a private pottery event?
Our private events can accommodate between 3 and 24 guests, depending on the activity (wheel throwing, hand building, or a combination). We’re happy to help you choose the best format for your group size.
What activities are available for private events?
Private events at Ceramic Souls can include hand building with clay, wheel throwing lessons, or a combination of both. All events are guided by an experienced instructor and tailored to your group’s experience level.
How long are private pottery events?
Most private pottery events run 2–3 hours, depending on the selected experience and group size. We’ll help determine the best timing to keep things fun, engaging, and relaxed.
What's included in the private event experience?
Private events include instruction, clay, tools, glazing, kiln firing, and cleanup. Finished pottery will be glazed and kiln-fired in our Nashville pottery studio and ready for pickup in several weeks.
Can we bring food or drinks to our event?
Yes! Ceramic Souls Nashville will provide a mix of beverages for your group, flavored mineral waters, canned cocktails, wine, champagne, but you are free to bring snacks or additional beverages to enjoy during your event. We’ll share guidelines upon booking to ensure a safe and comfortable studio environment.
When will we pick up our finished pottery?
Finished pieces are typically ready for pickup 3–4 weeks after your event and can be picked up during our pottery pick up hours. Finished pieces can also be shipped at additional expense.
How do I book a private event at Ceramic Souls?
To book a private pottery event, simply fill out our booking inquiry form. Our team will follow up to confirm availability, group size, and experience options.
